First Grade
Mrs. Joni Hegy
Mrs. Hegy began teaching at Cedar Bluffs Elementary School in 1978. She had attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where she majored in Elementary Education and Human Development.
Mrs. Hegy chose to teach elementary school because she liked working with kids. She had taught swimming lessons and babysat, and liked working with the children in those instances. Her parents were also teachers, which was a big factor for her in pursuing her career. Mrs. Hegy teaches our first grade class.
She believes that the most difficult aspect of her job is making sure she is able to meet the needs of the children in her classroom. She wants to be able to successfully work with the children at all different levels with all different needs. Mrs. Hegy hopes when her students leave her classroom at the end of the year prepared to be successful in Second Grade. She also hopes that they enjoy the time they spend in school.
