Mrs. Lynn Bowder

Kristin Jirovsky

Mrs. Lynn Bowder began teaching at Cedar Bluffs High School in the 1983-1984 school year. She previously had attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She majored in Art and Athletic Coaching.

Mrs. Bowder chose teaching because she wanted to be able to mix her two favorite things—athletics and art. She also felt that being an art teacher just made sense, because in her art classes, her classmates would come to her for help. Mrs. Bowder teaches our Art I, II, III, and IV, Photography I and II, Graphics I and II, and Psychology classes. Currently, Mrs. Bowder is taking time off from coaching for her family, but she has coached a number of sports in her time at Cedar Bluffs High School.

She believes that the most difficult aspect of her career as a teacher is helping her students see that the world is a “pay now/pay later” type of place. Her goal for her students as they leave her classroom is not only for them to have good knowledge of Art, Psychology, and Photography, but she hopes that she has helped them to develop good habits that will make them successful in their lives after high school.
