Mrs. Kay Vonderschmidt
Mrs. Vonderschmidt began teaching at Cedar Bluffs elementary in 1977. She had attended Midland Lutheran College where she majored in Elementary and Physical Education.
Mrs. Vonderschmidt chose to be an elementary teacher because she liked being able to see the beginning stages of a child's learning, or "when the light turns on." She feels that the most difficult aspect of her career is having to learn and change with the new and different children that she teaches each year, but she feels that once she gets past that, there is nothing difficult about her job. Her goal for the kindergartners, when they leave her classroom, is that they are ready to be successful in first grade.
