Celebrating 102 Days of School

Celebrating 102 Days of School

January 2008

by Kay Vonderschmidt

The Kindergarten class and their sixth grade partners celebrated the 102nd day of school.  We did several activities to help us understand the concept of the number 102. Our reading activities included reading the story of the dalmatians, in math we used the unifix cubes to learn about sets.  We made 10 sets of 10 with 2 more. We used 102 pattern blocks to make a design, and put 102 dots on a dalmatian.  We jumped rope, bounced a ball, and did the hula hoop 102 times for our large muscle activities. We used 102 fruit loops to fill our jar.  We found out that 102 is a very big number.  It is hard to believe that we have already been in school 102 days.

Please enjoy our slideshow of our activities. 102 Days Celebration
