September 17, 2009
The 2009 - 2010 school year marks the twentieth year Mr. Greg Brousek has been the Social Science and History teacher at Cedar Bluffs Junior/Senior High School.
Formerly he was a junior high teacher and coach at Omaha Assumption School. At the small Catholic grade school he taught science, social studies and reading.
Mr. Brousek grew up in Omaha. He attended Gross Catholic High School, graduating in 1982. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He is currently pursuing his Master of Science degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in Special Education.
Married to Patty Brousek (3rd Grade Teacher at Cedar Bluffs Elementary School), the couple has two children: Cody, a sophomore at Dana College majoring in elementary and special education, and Carly Jo in eighth grade.
Mr. Brousek chose teaching as a profession because he
wanted to help students learn about themselves, their country and
the world in which they live. He currently is teaching American
Government, Economics, American History to 1877, American History
since 1877, World Geography and World History since 1000 AD.
Besides working with students at Cedar Bluffs
Junior/Senior High School, Mr. Brousek works part time at the Wahoo
Newspaper and in the past has been an adjunct faculty member at
Midland Lutheran College. He also occasionally conducts workshops
at the Educational Service Unit in Fremont.
