Skylar Shanahan started the year off as the all-time career leading rebounder in Cedar Bluffs girls’ basketball history with 782 total rebounds. After a few weeks into the season, Skylar was able to break the boys' basketball record in career rebounding against Omaha Christian Academy with a 17-rebound performance. The performance pushed her total past the 845-career rebound mark. Tonight, against Brownell-Talbot she snagged 11 rebounds to eclipse the 1,000-career rebound mark. Skylar now has 1,005 career rebounds. CB is PROUD of you!!

Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great pleasure that we announce that a Cedar Bluffs Basketball Record has been broken.
Skylar Shanahan started the year off as the all-time career leading rebounder in Cedar Bluffs girls’ basketball history with 782 total rebounds. She set her sights on the boys’ basketball all-time career rebounding record which sat at 845 and was held by Randy Sukstorf. With her efforts this season and tonight’s 17 rebounds Skylar Shanahan now has 849 career rebounds which is the most in school history.

Hello!!!
The ESU is excited to launch Team ACCESS (All Children Celebrated, Educated, Safe, and Secure). This team was developed to support the overall wellbeing of students, families and staff. The team consists of the Navigator Program, Mental Health Professional Partners (MHPP) and the Disaster Trauma Response Grant.
Through the Navigator program, we have been able to establish a partnership with the Food Bank of the Heartland. This is an amazing opportunity that will allow the Navigators to be able to provide supplemental food boxes for families in need. There are no eligibility requirements and food boxes will be delivered to families directly if requested. At this time, we will be able to deliver food to families twice a month.
Below you will find a link to a survey that can be sent to families in your district. Feel free to share on your social media, emails or other forms of communication. This survey allows the Navigator to gain information that will be used when ordering and delivering food.
Once survey data has been collected, Navigators will start the food ordering process and will be in contact with families that are in need of the additional support .

Please remind your High School Grads to send Mrs.Chrisman any information they receive about awarded scholarships, to ensure that this information is announced correctly at Graduation.
This includes any scholarships or funds/discounts that were offered from any college, even if they are not attending that specific college. This also includes any community or church-related scholarships.
Forwarded e-mails from colleges or pictures of letters/awards received are the best way to make sure all information is presented correctly.

Nebraska is piloting a searchable database of licensed child care providers at https://www.nechildcarereferral.org/
During the COVID-19 pandemic, many essential workers are desperate to find safe places for their children. This website can help those who need quality emergency child care find it. It is also a valuable tool for the hundreds of licensed child care professionals struggling to keep their businesses open.

This coming Friday, May 1, is School Nutrition Association’s School Lunch Hero Day, an annual event to thank the School Nutrition front line workers across the country. Dear Wildcat Family,
Our school's Scrip program is a great fundraiser for our Pounding the Pavement program. A portion of the proceeds is also given to the Cedar Bluffs Education Foundation.
We are about 1 month or so from rolling out our next phase of Scrip cards.
We are looking for about 10 more individuals who would be willing to purchase cards online and then patiently wait 2 weeks or so to receive them. Jeff Bell, Becky Nielsen, Janelle Prchal, Cameo Sweeney, and Jen Wolsleben have already volunteered.
We are trying to get all the kinks worked out of the system with a sample group before we roll it out to the entire community.
If you would be interested in participating in our one or two trial runs, please contact Greg Brousek at 402-719-1630 or greg.brousek@cbwildcats.org

Dear Cedar Bluffs Families,
Tonight at approximately 9pm, I received an email from the ESU2. They are following guidance from Three Rivers Health. The State of Nebraska has elevated the risk assessment this evening and therefore it has been recommended that ESU2 area schools close Tuesday, March 17 for approximately two weeks. As you know this is a fluid situation and will continue to be monitored moving forward.
Cedar Bluffs will have a regular school day on Monday March 16th where students and teachers will report to Cedar Bluffs to clean out lockers, get all personal items and computers checked out as we prepare for the unknown. Buses will run accordingly but there will be no after school program. This is unchartered territory for everyone involved and we will do our best to communicate through our traditional channels as we work to develop a remote instruction as well as a feeding program so we can continue to serve our students and families. All activities will also be suspended until further notice. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school. I am truly sorry for this late notice as this situation continues to rapidly change.

Press Release 3-13-2020
Today, March 13, 2020 Governor Ricketts had a press conference that included the Commissioner of Education, Health Professionals and many School superintendents. What was communicated was that right now, we have “no community spread” and therefore the Governor will not close Schools by region until such time as that definition has been reached, if it is ever reached. Furthermore, the Commissioner of Education has urged schools to remain open because not only do schools provide an education for students and the community but they provide overall student care in the areas of nutrition, health and a safe place for children for those parents who are required to continue to provide services to the others in our State. Although this situation continues to be fluid, Cedar Bluffs Public School will continue to be open as scheduled with minor modifications including no self-serve salad bar, non-essential field trips and activities may be postponed and communicated through our district communications. Middle School students and students with an IEP will be given their laptops or Ipads today to be sent home in case there is a need for remote education and services in the future. For next week, the Parent Teacher Conferences will continue as scheduled, however the senior vs. staff basketball game scheduled for Thursday and the Saturday track meet has been postponed to a later date.
On another note, those in Fremont please understand that the quarantine is over on March 14th and although Fremont Public Schools is not back in session next week because they are on spring break, as of now they are allowing track practice, speech meets and other large social gatherings starting Monday March 16th in the school just as they have every year while on spring break.

The State Leadership Conferences/Conventions for Nebraska Department of Education student organizations have been canceled.
This includes:
· DECA (March 18-21)
· HOSA (March 22-24)
· Educators Rising (March 25)
· FBLA (March 30-April 1)
· FFA (April 1-3)
· SkillsUSA (April 2-4)
· FCCLA (April 5-7)

The University of Nebraska Extension has been contracted by the Department of Health and Human Services to conduct a community health analysis. Dear Cedar Bluffs Public School Family,
By now you’ve probably seen the news about the COVID-19 virus and potential exposure in Fremont, resulting in the closure of Fremont Schools and the University. The health and safety of our students and staff is a priority. Our administration has been in contact with Three River’s Health, the Saunders County Emergency Management Director, the Nebraska Department of Education, the Fremont YMCA, and the Superintendent of Fremont Public Schools. The Cedar Bluffs Crisis Team will continue to monitor this fluid situation and once we have gathered the necessary guidance a coordinated effort will be made to release information regarding schools in the surrounding area including Cedar Bluffs.

Dear Parents and Students,
The district is monitoring the developing information related to the spread of COVID-19 (commonly referred to as the coronavirus). To date, the district is unaware of any native cases of COVID-19 being reported in our state. However, the district has reviewed its relevant policies and procedures and is confident that it is prepared to respond to any outbreak of communicable disease that may occur. Should this situation interfere with the district’s ordinary operations or schedule, you will be provided notice in the customary fashion.
We encourage you to remain informed about the spread of the coronavirus, and would recommend that you visit the website for the Department of Health and Human Services, http://dhhs.ne.gov/Pages/Coronavirus.aspx, for further information as it develops. We would also encourage you to use this opportunity to remind your students of the importance of getting rest and washing hands, especially during cold and flu season.

A team of two students, Tanner Kiefer and Lane Kremlacek, from Cedar Bluffs High School in Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska recently concluded an exceptional round of competition in the twelfth season of CyberPatriot – the Air Force Association’s National Youth Cyber Defense Competition.
Led by Coach Liz Black, the team of students from Cedar Bluffs High School excelled in the CyberPatriot XII State Round held in December, demonstrating teamwork, critical thinking, and technical skills needed for a successful career in cybersecurity. The team’s performance earned it Nebraska’s 3rd Place Award in the Gold Tier.
“Our team of two, led by senior Tanner Kiefer, worked as hard as they could as if they were a full team of 6 and were just shy of taking 2nd place. I am so proud of all of their dedication and perseverance,” gushes Coach Liz Black.

The Cedar Bluffs High School is 1 of 30 area high schools coordinating with the Builders of the Future program to promote and educate students about the career opportunities in building construction. This year we are looking for families or individuals interested in purchasing a shed and having our students build a shed for you with the help of this program. 90% of the price of the shed will be returned to the industrial department at CBHS, these funds will be used to purchase tools and 10% will be applied towards a Metro Community College Building trade scholarship.
