Welcome to Cedar Bluffs Public Schools Athletics Department

Welcome to Cedar Bluffs Public Schools, home of the Wildcats! Cedar Bluffs is NSAA Class D1 in a majority of our activities and athletics. We compete in the Nebraska Frontier Conference with the following teams; Omaha Brownell Talbot, Omaha Christian Academy, College View Academy, Cornerstone Christian, Parkview Christian, Boys Town, Heartland Christian (IA), Whiting (IA). As a smaller school in Nebraska, Cedar Bluffs encourages our student's to be actively involved in the multiple opportunities we offer. The activity and athletics department stresses hard work, accountability, responsibility, and academics. In the middle school and high school, we have 145 students involved in one or more activities and/or athletics while providing a total of 32 coaches in those areas.

Tom Brinkman

Thomas Brinkman / Athletic Director

Coach Brinkman is in his third year at Cedar Bluff High School where he serves as a middle and high school social studies teacher and the head football coach. He graduated from Pocahontas High School in Pocahontas, Iowa where he was a well-rounded athlete. After graduating high school, Coach Brinkman attended Grinnell College where he was a four-year starter on the football team. In 2012, Coach Brinkman was an All-Conference Defensive Lineman along with being a D3 Stars and Stripes All-Star Selection.

Coach Brinkman has six years of football coaching experience where he spent two years coaching at Grinnell College and four years at Midland University before coming to Cedar Bluffs. In his time as a football coach, he coached three all-conference players at Grinnell College, five all-conference players at Midland University and one all-state high school football player at Cedar Bluffs High School. Coach Brinkman has ties to Midland University, Concordia University, Morningside College, Grinnell College, West Texas A&M, Indiana University, Peru State College, Wayne State College, Missouri Valley College, and Tarleton State University.

Sass

Sarah Sass / Athletic Department Secretary

Sarah has served as our Athletic Department secretary for the past three years. Mrs. Sass expedites the daily activities of the Athletic Department, working with the front office of Cedar Bluffs Public Schools; the Cedar Bluffs Public Schools Office Administration, students and athletes, teachers, coaches, and parents. She also provides the assistance necessary for the Athletic Director to complete the responsibilities of his job in an efficient and effective manner. Mrs. Sass is a graduate of Fremont High School and is currently married to her husband, Andrew, and they have two children, Kaylee and Jonathan.
