Thomas Brinkman / Head Coach

Coach Brinkman is in his third year at Cedar Bluff High School where he serves as a middle and high school social studies teacher and the head football coach. He graduated from Pocahontas High School in Pocahontas, Iowa where he was a well-rounded athlete. After graduating high school, Coach Brinkman attended Grinnell College where he was a four-year starter on the football team. In 2012, Coach Brinkman was an All-Conference Defensive Lineman along with being a D3 Stars and Stripes All-Star Selection.

Coach Brinkman has six years of football coaching experience where he spent two years coaching at Grinnell College and four years at Midland University before coming to Cedar Bluffs. In his time as a football coach, he coached three all-conference players at Grinnell College, five all-conference players at Midland University and one all-state high school football player at Cedar Bluffs High School. Coach Brinkman has ties to Midland University, Concordia University, Morningside College, Grinnell College, West Texas A&M, Indiana University, Peru State College, Wayne State College, Missouri Valley College, and Tarleton State University.

Coby Amen / Assistant Coach

Coby Amen is in his second year at Cedar Bluffs Public Schools, teaching STEM and Computer Science.  He is the Cedar Bluffs High School head Wrestling and assistant Football coach. Coach Amen has spent 9 years coaching high school, junior high, and youth teams in Wrestling, Football, and Track.  He has coached multiple state medalists in wrestling and helped coach a State Championship Football team.  As an athlete coach Amen was a 2X state medalist and state finalist while wrestling on a team that placed in the top 5 at state in each of his 4 years.  He was also an All-State Football player and played in 3 State Championship games winning 2 titles in his four years as well as being a state qualifier in Track and Field.  Coach Amen is passionate about coaching!  He loves helping his student athletes to be their best in not only their sport but also in school and in life! Coach Amen lives in Cedar Bluffs with his wife Mrs. Danielle Amen who is also our High School Science Teacher and Head Track and Field Coach and their two children Skylar and Ryker.  He loves teaching and coaching in Cedar Bluffs and is very excited about the future of our school, activities, and athletic programs!

Jeremiah Johnson / Assistant Coach

Coach Johnson is in his third year at Cedar Bluffs teaching high school English. He graduated from Hayfork High School in Hayfork, California.  Coach Johnson played football and basketball. He was a co-captain for both sports his junior and senior seasons. During his senior football season Coach Johnson was awarded 2nd Team All North Valley League as a TE/DB. He also received All North Valley league honorable mention during his junior and senior year in basketball. After graduation from high school Coach Johnson joined the United States Air Force and served honorably for six and half years.

Coach Johnson began coaching during his sophomore season of high school. After the completion of his football and basketball seasons Coach Johnson alternated between coaching Little League baseball and Youth Basketball (age range 9-12). Coach Johnson has coached the following sports (years in parentheses): Football (15 seasons), Basketball (10 seasons), Volleyball (2 seasons), Baseball (4 seasons), Softball (1 season).
