Press Release March 23, 2020

Today the school received an email from the Commissioner of Education and a letter from Three Rivers Health recommending that all schools in the State of Nebraska continue with remote learning for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.  Therefore, Cedar Bluffs Public school will be closed indefinitely and all activities will be suspended until further notice. Please know that Cedar Bluffs Public School will continue to educate your child to the best of our ability during this trying time. We will continue to provide the backpack program and food distribution until further notice. Also, we are working hard to find alternative dates or ways to celebrate the “milestone” events. We will find a way for graduation and Prom to occur even though it may look very different or be delayed.

We will be releasing information on Wednesday March 25, regarding remote learning and how that will look specially for your child, so please look for that.  Every student’s academic standing will be addressed. In the meantime, I want to ensure you that all our teachers will be required to contact their students on a regular basis and teachers will have regular office hours for you to contact them. Our mental health counselor is setting up a google document for students to request counseling sessions and he will be contacting kids in need. Our special education, Title and ELL staff will be supporting our students and students will graduate on time.  My heart goes out to the many members of our Wildcat families who are struggling in various ways due to this pandemic. I hope we can support each other and remain positive as we find ways to overcome these challenges.
