Superintendent Press Release March 13th, 2026
Dear Cedar Bluffs Families,
As we look ahead to the upcoming school year, Cedar Bluffs Public Schools will be experiencing a few staff transitions that we would like to share with our community.
First, we would like to thank Tom Brinkman for his years of service and leadership as our Activities Director. Tom has played an important role in supporting our student-athletes, coaches, and activities programs, and we appreciate the time and dedication he has given to Cedar Bluffs. We wish Tom the very best as he moves on to the next chapter of his career.
We also want to recognize and thank Brian Dunker, who will be departing Cedar Bluffs Public Schools for a position with Gretna Public Schools. Brian has been a valued member of our staff as our business teacher. A graduate of Cedar Bluffs High School himself, Brian returned to his hometown to invest in the same community that helped shape him. During his time here, he made a meaningful impact on our students by helping them build practical skills and preparing them for their future careers. We are grateful for the commitment Brian has shown to Cedar Bluffs and to the students he has served. While we are excited for the opportunity ahead of him in Gretna, he will certainly be missed, and we wish him continued success.
With these transitions, the district recently completed the search for a new Activities Director. Adam Tranmer was the committee’s selection for the position. Adam brings successful prior experience serving in the same role at a Class C school and received strong, positive references that consistently highlighted his energy, leadership, and ability to positively impact school culture. Those who have worked with Adam describe him as a collaborative leader who works well with students, coaches, and staff while maintaining a strong focus on supporting successful activities programs.
Adam also demonstrated a strong commitment to Cedar Bluffs and our community during the interview process. He and his family plan to relocate to the district, reflecting their excitement about becoming part of our school and community. Adam will be joined by his wife, Mary, and their two sons, who will be entering 2nd and 5th grade next year. The hiring committee felt Adam best addressed the various needs we were seeking to fill within the position, and we are excited to welcome him and his family to Cedar Bluffs.
Please join us in thanking Tom Brinkman and Brian Dunker for their service to Cedar Bluffs Public Schools and in welcoming Adam Tranmer and his family to our community.
Have a great weekend! - Wildcat Pride
