November is a great time to think about ways you can give back to your community. Each year, Cedar Bluffs hosts The Giving Tree Program and this year it is more important than ever to make sure our local families are taken care of. The Giving Tree program assists in buying gifts for students and families in need. If you would like to be on the Giving Tree this year, please fill out the form that was sent home with your child. If you did not receive a form and would like one, please reach out to Tina Headid in the high school. Forms are due by November 19th and no late forms will be accepted. If you are interested in donating to the Giving Tree, please contact Tina Headid. We will also have our Giving Tree displayed at home basketball games and other home activities. Thank you for your participation and support of this program.

Dear Parents and Staff, Recently you may have seen the recall of Onions by the CDC that have caused an outbreak of salmonella in the United States. According to a recall notice posted on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) website, the supplier issued the voluntary recall "due to the potential presence of salmonella bacteria." Today, October 27th, Cedar Bluffs Public School received a recall notice for a case of onions by one of our food distributors. The recalled onions were used in a Cucumber and Tomato Salad on the salad bar that middle and high school students and staff had access to on October 26th, 2021. Common symptoms associated with salmonella infection include Nausea; Vomiting; Abdominal cramps; and Diarrhea. If your child develops symptoms associated with salmonella, please consult your medical professional. We apologize for this distributor related incident and want you to know that your safety is one of our highest priorities. We have taken immediate steps to ensure these onions and any containers used have been properly disposed and disinfected.

Hello! You are receiving this e-mail because you have signed up to host a Trunk at the FBLA Trunk or Treat event, this Sunday, October 24th, from 2-4 pm. We appreciate your participation and community support! The weather forecast is not looking favorable, and rain is likely throughout the day. In an attempt to avoid wet feet and tearing up the practice field, we will be moving across the street to the FIRE STATION. The Cedar Bluffs Fire Department has generously opened its bay for us to use. They will move the trucks out and we can pull our cars in! However, there will be limited space for vehicles, so we are providing the option to set up a table, instead of a trunk! You are welcome to pull your vehicle in the station or use one of the tables provided, whichever is easier for you! We are also asking patrons to bring tents if they are willing to set up directly outside the fire station doors. Cedar Bluffs FBLA students will be in Orange Vests, and they are each assigned a business to be your personal helper. When you arrive, around 1:15 pm, you will check-in at the front of the Fire Station, at the bay door on the far west side, closest to the main entrance. Your assigned helper will then lead you to a parking spot or a table, based on your preference. Please do not hesitate to e-mail, text, or call me with questions or concerns. My cell is listed below. Once again, we appreciate your participation in this event! We are excited to share that Cedar Bluffs Public School is rolling out Remind school-wide! If you're not already familiar with Remind, it's a classroom communication tool that makes it easy to stay involved with your child's learning. Remind is free to use, and you'll be able to get and send messages on any device—even a simple text from your phone! As part of this rollout, we are having parents join by receiving information from your teacher at Parent Teacher Conferences. Here is a video demo to see how Remind works. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3_UQAC9hro We're excited to make connecting with our families more engaging!
