Press Release March 20, 2020
Dear Cedar Bluffs Families,
Starting Monday March 23, 2020 our teachers will be creating remote lessons. Elementary students have enrichment packets that were given to them before they left and those should be the items they are working on for now. Current plans are that the elementary (PK-6) will continue with enrichment packets. Dates, times and location for drop and pick up will be determined and communicated by March 25th. Middle and High school Teachers will have information and expectations posted on Canvas for 7-12th grade by March 25th. Lessons will begin on March 30th. All students should begin checking their e-mail and canvas on a daily basis. Crisis committees are spending countless hours working out the logistics of meals, social and emotional needs of our families, and the health of the community. Please see the announcement regarding breakfast and lunch.

Starting next week Cedar Bluffs Public School will be providing grab & go meals at two locations. Please see flyer below.

Dear Cedar Bluffs Families,
Tonight at approximately 9pm, I received an email from the ESU2. They are following guidance from Three Rivers Health. The State of Nebraska has elevated the risk assessment this evening and therefore it has been recommended that ESU2 area schools close Tuesday, March 17 for approximately two weeks. As you know this is a fluid situation and will continue to be monitored moving forward.
Cedar Bluffs will have a regular school day on Monday March 16th where students and teachers will report to Cedar Bluffs to clean out lockers, get all personal items and computers checked out as we prepare for the unknown. Buses will run accordingly but there will be no after school program. This is unchartered territory for everyone involved and we will do our best to communicate through our traditional channels as we work to develop a remote instruction as well as a feeding program so we can continue to serve our students and families. All activities will also be suspended until further notice. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school. I am truly sorry for this late notice as this situation continues to rapidly change.

Press Release 3-13-2020
Today, March 13, 2020 Governor Ricketts had a press conference that included the Commissioner of Education, Health Professionals and many School superintendents. What was communicated was that right now, we have “no community spread” and therefore the Governor will not close Schools by region until such time as that definition has been reached, if it is ever reached. Furthermore, the Commissioner of Education has urged schools to remain open because not only do schools provide an education for students and the community but they provide overall student care in the areas of nutrition, health and a safe place for children for those parents who are required to continue to provide services to the others in our State. Although this situation continues to be fluid, Cedar Bluffs Public School will continue to be open as scheduled with minor modifications including no self-serve salad bar, non-essential field trips and activities may be postponed and communicated through our district communications. Middle School students and students with an IEP will be given their laptops or Ipads today to be sent home in case there is a need for remote education and services in the future. For next week, the Parent Teacher Conferences will continue as scheduled, however the senior vs. staff basketball game scheduled for Thursday and the Saturday track meet has been postponed to a later date.
On another note, those in Fremont please understand that the quarantine is over on March 14th and although Fremont Public Schools is not back in session next week because they are on spring break, as of now they are allowing track practice, speech meets and other large social gatherings starting Monday March 16th in the school just as they have every year while on spring break.
