Superintendent Press Release September 12, 2025
Dear Cedar Bluffs Families,
First, I am writing to share some important staffing updates with you.
Mr. Jeff Beckman has announced that he will be leaving Cedar Bluffs to become the Chief Operating Officer at the Fremont YMCA, an exciting opportunity and a highly respected position in Fremont. His last day with us will be September 19. Jeff has been a dedicated leader, and his work has positively shaped our school in many ways — from supporting students and staff to strengthening connections with families and the broader community. We are grateful for his years of service and wish him the very best in this new chapter.
Initially, Mr. Brian Dunker had accepted the position moving forward; however, he has since reconsidered and decided not to pursue the role. We respect his decision and thank him for his thoughtfulness during this process.
The position will now be reopened, and we encourage anyone interested to submit an application. Application can be picked up from Ms. Vyhlidal. This is an important opportunity to step into a leadership role and support the continued success of our school community.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our students, staff, and school. Together, we are building a bright future for Cedar Bluffs.
Second, Cedar Bluffs Public Schools participates in the Nebraska Frameworks model, a statewide system that guides school improvement efforts through a structured and reflective process. As part of this model, every Nebraska public school engages in a Continuous Improvement Process (CIP), which includes regular data analysis, goal setting, and strategic planning to enhance student learning and school effectiveness.
Every five years, schools undergo an External Review conducted by a team of educators from outside the district. This team evaluates our progress, provides feedback, and helps ensure our practices align with Nebraska Department of Education standards. Our next external visit is scheduled for November 12th and 13th, 2025.
A vital part of this review includes input from parents and community members. We are currently seeking possible volunteers to participate in interviews with the external review team to share their perspectives on our school’s strengths and areas for growth. If you are interested in being part of this important process, please contact Ben Hansen, Director of Learning at Cedar Bluffs Public Schools. Your voice is an essential part of our commitment to continuous improvement.
