Thursday was a great day for Wildcat Cross Country! We participated in our first conference meet and did very well! Katie and Sarah ran their first official varsity meet and both placed in the Top 15. Jeremy earned an 8th Place Medal. It was Cedar Bluffs' first varsity medal in cross country in over 30 years! Jeremy, Graham, Nash and Mason all placed in the Top 20. Morgan competed and completed in his first race this season. We have yet to receive official results, but Mr. Brousek believes the boys team placed 3rd in the conference.

Seniors and Parents, The LOCATION for our Apply2College/Plan Your Future Day has changed to the Cedar Bluffs Fire Hall! On Wednesday, Seniors will walk up to the Fire station at 12:25 pm to enjoy lunch from Raising Canes. Parents, please arrive anytime between 1 and 2 pm. See you next week!

Parents of Seniors! Reminder that our "Plan Your Future Day" (previously Apply2College) is ONE WEEK from today! We can't wait to see you on October 13th AT THE AUDITORIUM between 1 and 2 pm. At 2:15 pm, we will have a presentation on how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)-Please check your e-mail with a list of items you will want to bring to complete the FAFSA. If a student is planning to join the workforce and does not want to complete the FAFSA, they will continue working with our rep from Premier Staffing to learn about jobs available to them or visit with Sid Dillions about the many job opportunities they have to offer. We look forward to parents joining us for this milestone event!

We are excited to announce that one of our very own Wildcats was selected for Believers and Achievers by the NSAA and U.S. Bank. Grace Williams was one of 48 selected. Here is more information: The Nebraska School Activities Association and U.S. Bank® are thrilled to announce the 48 U.S. Bank® Believers & Achievers for the 2021-2022 school year! The list of recipients is available on the NSAA website: https://nsaa-static.s3.amazonaws.com/textfile/believe/2021-2022B-AWinnersPressRelease.pdf . Believers & Achievers is a state-wide program designed by U.S. Bank® and the NSAA to give recognition to Nebraska’s future leaders. Beginning in October and continuing through April, 48 Nebraska high school seniors will be honored as Believers & Achievers. From those 48 finalists, eight will receive $500 scholarships from U.S. Bank® to the college or university of their choice at a scholarship banquet to be held on April 24th, 2022. These students will be recognized at NSAA State Championships throughout the 2021-2022 activities year and on a poster sent to all NSAA member schools and U.S. Bank® branches throughout the state. All of the students nominated for the Believers & Achievers awards program represent the very best of Nebraska’s high schools. Information for tonight's Volleyball game at Brownell Talbot from Brownell: 1. Our school requires everyone to wear a mask when they are indoors in any building on our campus. VB players and referees will have the option to remove their mask when they are on the court during play. 2. No concession stand will be available for this contest. 3. The matches will be streamed on Brownell's Youtube page https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGwn8BXamkSuVClPHjk4w7w 4.Tuesday is senior night for our volleyball players. We will recognize our senior players immediately following the JV match. Once the recognition is over then we will begin warm ups for the varsity match.

Congrats to our youth lady wildcats 3rd/4th and 6th grade volleyball teams today on finishing their seasons with wins!

Congratulations to the Cross Country Team on their performance at the Boys Town Invitational yesterday! Sarah Marten placed 54th in the Girls Junior Varsity race out of 124 runners. She beat her previous time by over two minutes. For the first time in forty years - or maybe a first in Cedar Bluffs' school history - the Wildcats fielded a team at the Varsity level. The team of Jeremy Honeywell, Coday Clark, Mason Christensen, Nash Honeywell and Graham Honeywell placed 10th in a field dominated by Class A and B teams. Jeremy and Graham led the Wildcats with a 37th Place and 38th Place finish respectively. Next Thursday the Cross Country team participates in the Frontier Conference Meet. Grace Williams was nominated and chosen as Runza's Student of the Week! She will receive a $500 scholarship and will be featured on KETV Channel 7's 10 o'clock News on Sunday, October 10th. Congratulations Grace!
