Addy Sweeney continues to make a name for herself in Cedar Bluffs Track and Field History: back at our conference indoor meet earlier this season, Addy broke her own school record in the long jump by going 18'1 (previously 17'6). She then went on to break the school record in high jump at that same meet by going 5'1 (previously 5'0 set by M. Deshler in 1997). On Tuesday this week at the Freeman track meet, Addy broke the school record in the 800m run, going 2:24.22 (previously 2:25.8 set by D. Josoff in 1980) — then yesterday at the Oakland Craig meet, she broke her newly owned 800m record again by going 2:23.06.
Sign-up for the youth football camp July 15-17! It is open to all 3rd through 8th grade students. Forms should've been sent home but feel free to print one off and turn it in. Cost is $30. Please turn-in by June 2nd!

Mrs. Brousek’s and Mrs. Bentley’s classes had a special opportunity to spend time with members of the University of Nebraska’s Husker track and field team. The student-athletes read a story from the third-grade textbook about the challenges of running track. They answered the many questions we had and shared insights about their training, motivation, and experiences competing at the collegiate level. The Huskers cheered our students on as they competed in a relay. We all left with a new Husker Track and Field t-shirt and smiles on our faces. Thank you Cody Brousek for making this happen.

Congrats to our HS track team with both boys and girls placing runner up at their outdoor conference meet today. The boys placed runner up with a total of 111 points and the girls also received runner up with 108.5 points.
