The Wildcat Cross Country team opened up their season on Thursday at the East Butler Invitational at Timber Point Recreational Area. The boys placed 8th overall. The group was led by Graham. The sophomore placed 11th to set a new Cedar Bluffs course record at East Butler. Chris and Coday finished second and third on the team. Coday cut more than six minutes off his time from last season. The girls team placed 9th overall. The girls were led by freshman Kathaleen who finished in 21st place. Her time also broke the previous school record. All of our runners are working hard in their quest to become more fit. Next Thursday the Wildcats travel to Waterloo to run in the Douglas County West Invitational. Until next week...miles and hills...miles and hills.

It is Fall. It is Cross Country season! Saturday mornings for the Wildcats are long run days. Long runs develop leg muscles, lung capacity, and mental toughness. As you drive on the country roads around Cedar Bluffs over the next 2 months be on the lookout for runners working hard to get better. We are on the roads most Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons as well as Saturday mornings. We would like to thank Caren Clark for cooking breakfast for everyone! Proud of these student-athletes!!
