May 3rd, 2024 is National School Lunch Hero Day! To celebrate, Nebraska SNAC reached out to administrators, teachers, parents, and community members and asked them to share comments about school nutrition heroes in their communities.

The HS Girls track team had themselves a week with records!!
Tuesday at Freeman, Addy Sweeney broke the school record in the 200m with a time of 25.95s (previous record set by Darcy Siebels in 1985 of 26.07s).
Then today at Oakland Craig, the 4x400 relay team of Addi Newill, Maddie Thomas, Hannah Cozad, and Addy Sweeney broke the school record with a time of 4:19.33 (previous record set by Walkenhorst, Dunker, Josoff, Walkenhorst in 1977 of 4:22.4).

Congratulations to Camdyn Hittner for signing with Lincoln Premium Poultry to continue his education in Electrical Maintenance at Northeast Community College, and to Gus Jacoby who has signed with the Fremont Corrections Department to continue his career goals in Public Service. Both corporations are valued partners of the Cedar Bluffs Career Academy and we are thankful for their support and mentorship of these fine individuals.
Ms. Smoot's 2nd grade class learned about recycling for Earth Day. They then wrote and presented persuasive and factual letters to Future Elementary Principal, Mrs. Chrisman, asking to add more recycling options in the Elementary Classrooms next year. We love the passion these students have for going green!


May 1st is celebrated as National School Principal's Day. We are so thankful for our principals and the work they do each day for our students, staff, and community.

The students on Mini 10 celebrated Etania's last day on the bus this morning.
Etania gifted all of her fellow passengers with donuts from the Wahoo Bakery.
Etania and her 17 classmates have just a few days left of school!


Today's (Wednesday's) practice will begin after the school lip dub.
Students not participating in Monday's meet will be dismissed at 3:25
Students participating in Monday's meet will practice until 4:10. Bus will depart at 4:20.
We will follow this plan for the rest of this week.

Congrats to the golf team today for their 2nd place finish at Grandpas Woods! The JV team finished 3rd among JV teams and Camdyn Hittner placed 3rd with an 85!

With the JH track meet being cancelled today and muddy conditions, JH track and field practice will conclude at 3:25 pm. There will be no 4:20 pm bus.
Reminder the Lip Dub is tomorrow May 1st!

Great opportunities for our elementary students to improve their fitness and skills this upcoming summer. We challenge ALL incoming K-6th grade students to complete the 100 Hour Fitness Club Challenge during the months of May, June, July, and August. We have also started a 5,000 Shot Club for all incoming 3rd-6th grade boys and girls that are wanting to improve their basketball skills. Flyers have been sent home with students with more details.
